Library Policies
The library is a place where everyone is welcome
to study, work and relax!
East's Library is open:
Monday - Thursday from 7:10 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.
Friday from 7:10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Before and After School:
Students are welcome to use the library without a pass. Please sign in.
During School:
Students must have a pass signed by a subject teacher and must sign in. During Lunch & Learn, no pass or sign-in is required.
Please Note:
Eating is not allowed in the library.
Books:
You may check out as many books as you need. An ID card is not required. Books are available for two weeks and may be renewed.
Magazines:
Online databases may be the best source of information. However, the library also subscribes to a number of print magazines. The list of titles is available at the circulation desk. Ask the library staff for the magazine if it is not in the display racks. Magazines may only be used in the library.
Reference:
The reference collection may be used in the library only. With a teacher's permission, a reference book may be checked out overnight.
Fines and Overdues:
Please return books on time. If a book is lost or damaged, a fine will be assessed to replace the book. Reminders will be emailed. Unpaid fines or overdue books may result in the loss of privileges such as prom tickets, a parking permit, and a diploma. After repeated reminders, you may also be assigned a detention from the house principal.
Black & White Printing:
Students should select one of these printers from their school-issued laptop: LIB-EAST, LIB-PATRIOTS, LIB-READ, or LIB-BOOKS.
Color Printing:
To print in color, use the laptop next to the color printer at the circulation desk.
Copying:
There is no photocopier in the library. For a small number of school-related copies, ask the main office receptionist.
